Travel Vaccinations

HOW TO GET YOUR TRAVEL VACCINATIONS

From the 1st of April NHS Forth Valley's Immunisation team will be taking over Travel Health Service for NHS Forth Valley patients. You will no longer be able to get travel vaccinations from your GP.

Patients should self-refer to the service using the risk assessment eform, available on the immunisation page on NHS Forth Valley services page, NHS Forth Valley – Travel Health ServicePatients should self-refer with at least 6 weeks notice so that immunisation(s) will be effective at time of travel. For patients that can't use the eform, you should contact the immunisation administration team on 0800 130 3120, you will be assessed by an Immunisation Nurse trained in Travel Health and recommend appropriate treatment.
If you require free NHS vaccine, you will get your vaccine from the Immunisation team. If you require a NHS and private vaccine you will be directed to community pharmacy contractors that already offer private travel health services. These pharmacies will offer free NHS vaccines and charge patients for the private immunisation.
