GP Training

Registrars

We are an approved GP Training Practice, which means that we may have a GP Registrar attached to the practice for several months at a time. GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors with at least 2 years experience working in hospitals and who wish to specialise in General Practice.

Medical Students

The practice regularly hosts medical students who are in their final year of training, most from the Medical Faculty at the University of Dundee.

Dr Robertson and Dr Brodie are accredited student tutors and supervise the students during their attachment. All of the doctors take an active role in the students' attachments to the practice.

During a students' attachment, you may be asked if you mind seeing the student on their own before your appointment with your GP. You will still see the doctor immediately after.

Training in general practice is a crucial part of all doctors' training, and we urge you to co-operate with the students if you can.

We do, of course, understand that you may not wish to discuss your problems with someone you are not familiar with, and you can opt out of seeing a medical student at any time.

Video Consultations

From time to time individual GPs or GP Registrar may wish to video some consultations for training and education purposes. Your consent will always be requested both before and after such videoing, and further information will be provided at the time. Your participation in these consultations is much appreciated, but entirely optional.
