Travel Vaccinations

The NHS Forth Valley immunisation team run a Travel Health Service for all NHS Forth Valley patients. You will no longer be able to get travel vaccinations from your GP.

Patients should self-refer to the service using the risk assessment e-form which is available on the immunisation page on NHS Forth Valley services page: NHS Forth Valley – Travel Health ServicePatients should self-refer with at least 6 weeks' notice so the immunisations will be effective at time of travel. Patients who are unable to use the e-form should contact the immunisation administration team on 0800 130 3120 who will arrange an assessment by an immunisation nurse trained in travel health who will recommend appropriate treatment.

If you require a free NHS vaccine, you will get your vaccine from the immunisation team. If you require a NHS and private vaccine you will be directed to community pharmacy contractors who already offer private travel health services. These pharmacies will offer free NHS vaccines and charge patients for the private immunisation.
